quotes of the pious

Taqwa knowledge and beauty

It is reported that Abû Al-Dardâ – Allâh be pleased with him – said:
You will never be pious (a person of taqwâ) until you become knowledgeable, and you will never be beautiful with your knowledge until you act [by it].

Ibn Ábd Al-Barr, Jâmi’ Bayân Al-’Ilm wa Fadlihî article 1239.

REACHING THE PINNACLE

 Belief in Allah's Lordship (Ruboobiyah)
  • This means to believe that Allah is the only Rabb without a partner or a helper.
  • the Rabb is the one to whom belongs the creation, kingdom and command.
  • Their is no creator but Allah. No maalik (possessor) but Him, and their is no command but His.
Allah says :  (7:54)

Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds. (54)

Belief in Allah's Worship (Uloohiyah)
  • It is the true belief that Allah is the true Ilah who has no partner or associate.
  • the Ilah means al-Ma'bood, the only true God who deserves to be worshiped out of love and magnification
Allah says : (2:163)

And your god is one God. There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. (163)

Beleif in Asma-Was-Sifat (Names and Attributes)
  • It means to affirm the names and Attributes which Allah affirmed to Himself in His book and in the Sunnah f His messenger in the way that best fits Him without:
        - Tahreef (distortion of the meaning)
        - Ta'teel (negating the meaning)
        - Tak'yeef (assigning a manner to any attribute)
        - Tamtheel (drawing parerells to Allah)

Allah says : (7:180)

And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they have been doing.(180)
